Since 2004, Thrillist has been sharing stories about food, drink, and travel in the United States. Recently, Thrillist stopped by Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in New Haven to gather some of those stories. The Thrillist team is working on a video series covering the best food in every state. In Connecticut, they shined their camera lights on Pizza. Has Connecticut surpassed New York and Chicago as the Pizza capital of the world? We are pretty sure that all of us with a passion for Pepe’s think so and we are sure fans of Modern and Sally’s would also agree.
During their stop at Pepe’s Pizza in New Haven, Thrillist video taped Gary Bimonte, one of Frank Pepe’s grandchildren, making two of Pepe’s famous pizzas, the White Clam Pizza and Fresh Tomato Pie. Pepe’s Fresh Tomato Pies will be available as long as the fresh tomatoes are in season.
Along with Pepe’s, Modern and Sally’s are also parts of the pizza culture in Connecticut and are included in the Thrillist social media video series. When the series begins to run, we will be sure to share on our social media accounts.
