With the resurgence of Covid-19 across the U.S., we feel this is the best course of action for all.
We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patronage these many, many years.
As one of the oldest and most well-regarded pizzerias in the United States, we have had the pleasure of hosting many incredible guests over the years. From 3rd generation regulars to talented actors, actresses, politicians, and athletes, we’re delighted to have served Pepe’s signature coal-fired pizza to a diverse array of well-known, and hungry diners. Here are just a few of our notable guests.
Best known for his roles in Sideways, American Splendor, and Win Win, the star was born in New Haven and visited our original location on Wooster Street in September 2018, where he enjoyed two pizzas— Pepe’s famous White Clam Pizza and a pie with sausage and mushrooms. Paul and his family have been frequenting our pizzeria long before Paul became an award-winning actor.
Lewis, who starred in Band of Brothers, Homeland, Wolf Hall, and currently in Billions, made a pit stop at Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in New Haven in November 2018. Along with his aunt and uncle, the actor enjoyed a Margherita pie, Quattro Formaggi, and a pizza with sausage and peppers.
Robert De Niro
The New Haven team was star struck when Emmy Award-winner Robert De Niro walked through the doors and ordered a selection of signature pies. De Niro dined with his family and created much excitement for both workers and guests.
When the 42nd President of the United States walks into your restaurant, you better be confident in the product you sell! During Hilary Clinton’s campaign trail through Connecticut in 2016, the President stopped by Pepe’s for pizza, and enjoyed taking photos with staff and customers.
The famous New York Yankees catcher and manager used to be a regular at our New Haven location whenever he was in the area and our team still enjoys sharing the story about how Mr. Berra would always request his pizza to be cut into four slices. His explanation? He could never finish eight slices!
Pepe’s welcomes all!
While entertaining and serving those of notoriety is fun and exciting, it is our loyal guests, many of whom have been dining with us for years, that make Pepe’s what it is today. We welcome everyone to sit down at one of our ten locations (…keep a lookout, as one more will be opening soon in Burlington, Massachusetts) to enjoy one of our world-famous pies. The experience will be one you won’t forget, and you may just see someone from the silver screen!
